• Never open email spam and definitely never reply to email spam or use any unsubscribe type option in the email, as all this does is confirm that your email address works and therefore you are likely to be sent more spam emails.
• Be sure to look at the list of emails in your spam folder to ensure that they are not valid emails before you then use the spam control software to delete all the spam emails in that folder.
• You can ignore and delete spam emails you receive.
• Studies have estimated that there are 55 billion spam emails sent every day worldwide – this accounts for 80 to 85 per cent of all incoming email!If a spam bot or spyware bot gets into your computer, it will automatically start to send out spam emails, and after a while your isp will contact you and probably accuse you of being a spammer.
• Blacklist all the senders that you don't know or email addresses from previous spam emails.
• Spam control software must be easy to install and must detect and quarantine any spam emails.
• Many spam emails are often sent out from a army of zombie pc's (computers that have been hijacked by spammers) that leave no trace back to the original sender.
• A pump and dump scammer will send out millions of spam emails with a hot tip about their company - to show that the share price is going to shoot through the roof in the next couple of weeks and we should all rush out and buy the shares now whilst the price is so low.
• If you start receiving spam emails and wish to keep your current email address, you will need to scan your incoming emails for spam with some spam control software.
• Spam emails are usually aimed to advertise something, scam, or sending out a virus or trojan mail.
