The dictionary attack is a very-frequently used means by which spammers can collect deliverable addresses for their spam lists. The spammer can use a dictionary attack to test any addresses he has for a domain, even those he may have simply have guessed at. Email spam which is also known as bulk or junk e-mail relates to unsolicited, unwanted, irrelevant, or inappropriate emails, especially commercial advertising emails that you receive and is often sent in its thousands or millions from the sender. A good aup will clearly state that not only is spamming not allowed, but will spell out the punishment for doing so. If you don't receive a spam message in the first place, then you don't have to filter it. So, if the mail provider has set up blocklisting or other facilities to reject spam deliveries, then it is spared the necessity of filtering most such mail for its users.
