block junk mail thoughts for 12.31.1969

Domain Name System Block Lists (DNSBL) are commercial lists of networks that either allow spammers to use their systems to send spam, or have not taken action to prevent spammers from abusing their systems. Use a spam filer or blocker - read more about spam blockers and spam filers on our site. Base64 is a form of MIME encoding that converts large blocks of possibly binary data into larger blocks of ASCII text data (using a numerical technique called "base64") for safe transmission over e-mail systems. Can be blocked by normal popup blockers. Dnsbls (dns block lists) should not be used by large isps as a sole method of guaging spam. Blacklists are not a terribly effective form of spam filter as they usually do not block or reject e-mail as much as merely route it to some destination of the user's choice (like the trash can). Spam block software programs function through your mail server email account, inspecting your account for spam emails, deleting both viruses and obvious spam email, such as those containing adult content and images.
