Block Spam
- Outlook comes with a pre-defined spam filter which combats spam, though you can customize the degree to which you want it to block spam emails.
- If you use outlook it is suggested you get a spam blocker.
- There are dozens of blocklists maintained by many organizations (and even individuals), and mail hosts can query these blocklists before allowing untrusted hosts to leave mail messages for them.
- Blocklist: A database of ip addresses or web urls suspected of being involved in spam or other abuse; generally a blocklist is not used by end-users, but is instead queried by mail hosts in order to reject or mark probable spam messages upon delivery.
- Traceroute is often useful for tracing down the upstream providers of spammers who own their own net blocks.

- Quoted-printable encoding can replace parts of a block of data (such as an e-mail body or an attached file) with a text-like representation to allow the data to be sent safely over e-mail systems.
- Block List: A publicised list, usually commercial, of ip addresses known to be sources of spam.
- Which can be used to create a network block list to filter out mail originating from these addresses.
- A block list is also a feature of anti-spam software that allows users to designate ip addresses, domain names and individual email addresses from which no mail will be accepted.
- Block lists are also sometimes called blackhole lists or blacklists.
- Aspam blocker prevents you from receiving most spam so that you won't have to take the time to delete them.
- A spam blocker is generally easy to install and does not require further configuration.
