Redirection describes any of a number of techniques used by spammers to hide their real websites behind disposable sites. Referrer Spam: Whenever you click on a link that takes you to a new web page, the server for that web page is given the URL of the page that contained the link. Often used by spammers to cripple spam-fighting web sites, or to blackmail businesses into paying protection money. org/ (the spamhaus project's website). A Mousetrap makes use of javascript which prevents a reader from leaving a web site. When the user tries to leave, a new window pops up back at the web site. Used by contract spammers who get paid per person who clicks on the advertiser's web site.
